As college football begins to creep up here, you can tell that it’s almost time to take the field because South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier is beginning to take his jabs. Well his most recent shot was at the Big Ten Conference specifically, and he used the East Carolina Pirates to do so. ‘
When talking to reporters recently about strength of schedule, he took his aim at the Big Ten, using the Pirates as an example of how shallow he believes the conference really is.
Spurrier on scheduling, “playing East Carolina is probably tougher than playing one of those bottom tier Big Ten Teams,”

Now of course, in perfect troll fashion, Spurrier isn’t really wrong. As Bruce Feldman pointed out, especially with the top-notch quarterback they have, East Carolina could compete with a lot of the best teams from around the nation.
Re: Spurrier’s comments abt #ECU beating some BigTen teams. I think ECU & Shane Carden could probably beat half the teams in Big 5 leagues.

But nonetheless, the story here is Spurrier loading up that troll gun for yet another college football season, and no one is safe. Not even an entire conference.
