Former Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier turning heads at Steelers camp

There are a few talented players from last year’s Ohio State Buckeyes team that are beginning their NFL journeys with training camps recently opening up, but none may be making a bigger impression than linebacker Ryan Shazier.

Since Shazier has arrived with the Steelers after they drafted him in the first round of the NFL Draft, people within the organization have really had nothing but good things to say about the Buckeyes product.

And now with the pads full on, that tune has not changed one bit.

Veteran inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons, one of the better at the position for the Steelers, had nothing but a rave review for the rookie.

“He has all the intangibles,” inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons said.

Timmons would go on to add, too, how blessed Shazier is to have such a good group around him to help mod him into one of the better rookies that you will see on the field in 2014.

“We were a totally different ballclub when I came in,” Timmons said. “It’s hard to compare. He’s blessed to be in a circumstance where he can start early.”

It’s going to be fun watching Shazier progress as an NFL player once the season starts in a few weeks.
