Last season ended in heartbreak for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. The heartbreak began when, after going undefeated in the regular season for the second year in a row, they lost a tough game down in Indianapolis to the Michigan State Spartans for the Big Ten Championship.
With the run they were on, there were a lot of people that expected them to run away with the conference championship, which they ultimately did not.
That’s the thing. It’s expected that Ohio State win the Big Ten title, and that doesn’t just go for fans, but players and coaches as well.
If you don’t believe that, then let quarterback Braxton Miller remind you how much winning the title in Indianapolis is expected by he and the rest of his teammates.
To win that Big Ten championship,” Miller said. “I think about it a lot. Like all the time.
“The expectation for this team is to always win a Big Ten championship. It’s always on the top of our list of team goals entering the season.”
Of course, before they can even think about the College Football Playoff and winning a national championship, this is the goal they must meet first. And it’s nice to know that their eyes are directly on that prize heading into this season.
