Ohio State Football: Big Ten players vote Buckeyes as conference favorite

This week during the Big Ten Media Days, the guys at the Big Ten Network decided to have themselves a little bit of fun. They took one player from each team in the conference and they anonymously polled them on a number of topics. One of them was who is the favorite to take home the Big Ten title this December, and that distinction overwhelmingly went to the Buckeyes.

Recently in a poll of the Big Ten media, the Buckeyes were picked as the favorite in the conference, and this occurrence on Tuesday by the players probably won’t be the last time before the season starts that someone pegs the Buckeyes as the favorite in the conference.

Here’s a look at how the voting played out.

PRESEASON BIG TEN FAVORITE?
8: Ohio State
4: Michigan State
1: Iowa, Minnesota

Not one vote for those Wolverines, huh?

What’s maybe a little bit surprising is the fact that the Wisconsin Badgers didn’t get a vote. You would think that Melvin Gordon, coach Gary Andersen and the boys in Madison would have received a vote of confidence from at least one player in the conference. But, nope, that wasn’t the case.

Nonetheless, the praise for Ohio State keeps rolling in.
