Carlos Hyde reportedly to have large role in San Francisco 49ers offense

NFL training camps are getting started all over the league, and with that, it’s time to start paying attention to what the Ohio State Buckeyes are doing as they begin their professional careers. One of them beginning that journey this week is running back Carlos Hyde, who could end up having a big impact on one of the best teams in the NFL.

According to Albert Breer, Hyde has done so well during his brief stint with the 49ers that he could end up playing a pretty significant role in the offense.

While Frank Gore will undoubtedly be the focal point of the running game for the 49ers, he’s also getting up there in age. That was one of the reasons they selected Hyde in the second round of the NFL Draft back in May.

Plus, while many eyes are on the return of Marcus Lattimore, there is a huge cloud of uncertainty surrounding whether or not he can be the dynamic player that he was at South Carolina.
