All of the news in the state of Ohio the past few days has surrounded the fact that LeBron James decided on Friday that he will be making his return home to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The news has everyone in a frenzy in the state, including a lot of Ohio State fans that are also avid Cavaliers fans.
Of course, for years people have known that James had ties to Ohio State athletics. Being a young kid from Akron, it’s not surprising at all that he was loyal to the Buckeyes, and he even went so far as to say that if he had gone to college, it more than likely would have been in Columbus. Man, can you imagine that?
That’s why it’s no surprise that immediately following the announcement on Friday, Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer reached out to James to let him know that the doors of the football facilities are always open.
“He’s got an open door,” the Ohio State football coach told cleveland.com in a phone interview. “If he wants to catch a pass, we can probably figure that out, too.”
It will indeed be nice to start seeing the King hanging around more of the Ohio State sporting events in the near future.
