Ohio State Football: Athlon Sports projects Buckeyes to College Football Playoff, Rose Bowl

Heading into last college football season, the Ohio State Buckeyes were one of the favorites to make it to the final BCS National Championship Game, and some had them walking away with the whole prize. Well as we know, they came close to making all of that become a reality, but ultimately fell just short of the goal.

Despite that, the Buckeyes are once again heavy contenders heading into this season, which would put them as one of the first four teams in the inaugural college football playoff.

Athlon Sports tends to agree.

They released their preseason bowl projections, and they do have the Ohio State Buckeyes as one of the teams in the inaugural College Football Playoff, and their opponent in the semifinal game in the Rose Bowl will have a lot of people smiling.

In that match up, they have the Buckeyes facing off against the vaunted Alabama Crimson Tide. People have long awaited a rematch between Urban Meyer and Nick Saban, and having their next face off with the national championship on the line would surely make a lot of folks very pleased.

Again, heading into this season, the pressure is certainly on this Ohio State team, led by senior QB Braxton Miller, to finally break through the championship glass ceiling. It’s nice to see that a lot of people are confident they can get that done.
