The Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2015 recruiting class has slowly been taking shape here in the month of June, and it can only get better between now and February. What could aid in making the class better, though, is a recent de-commitment from one of the nation’s best running backs.
On Friday, four-star running back Jordan Scarlett announced that he would not be attending FAU, getting him right back into the 2015 recruiting mix. Back in December, Scarlett shocked everyone when he announced that he would be spurning the slew of other big program offers to attend FAU, however everyone predicted him pulling back from the commitment like he did on Friday.
Scarlett was quite frank in his reasoning for the de-commitment, too.
“I felt like FAU wasn’t the best decision for me academically and out on the football field,” Scarlett told the Sun-Sentinel. “At my position, you need your body and at FAU, I would need to carry the team and I’m trying to get my body ready for the NFL.”
So now, with Friday’s events, the Buckeyes can now jump right back into the fight for the services of Scarlett, out of the famed St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
