The Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Urban Meyer are in prime position to land one of the best players in the 2015 class as five-star linebacker Justin Hilliard recently announced that Columbus is one of his finalists. The Cincinnati native said that he will formally announce his decision on July 2.
Hilliard named a few teams via his twitter account, but according to 247 Sports, the decision is really down to the Buckeyes and another finalist he named, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
While seven of Ohio State’s 10 commits hold four-star grades,Urban Meyer and his staff are still looking for that first five-star fish.
They could reel it in on July 2 when the nation’s top outside linebacker in Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier standout Justin Hilliard announces his college decision, basically between the Buckeyes and Notre Dame. Ohio State saw its lead on the Crystal Ball grow to 76 percent in the last week.
The 2015 Ohio State recruiting class got off to a rather slow start, but it has picked up some steam here in the month of June. They are now up to 10 total commits and are in the top 25 on 247 Sports.
A commitment from Hilliard on July 2 would be a major coup going forward, but it seems as if Meyer is going to have to fend off Brian Kelly and Notre Dame.
