Ohio State Football Recruiting: 5-star LB Justin Hilliard to announce on July 2

One of the best linebacker prospects remaining in the 2015 class, and one of Ohio State’s prime targets for the defensive side of the ball, five-star rated Justin Hilliard, has let it be known that he will officially announce his college decision on July 2. So, we will know fairly soon whether or not the Buckeyes’ 2015 class will get that much better.

According to 247 Sports, Hilliard, out of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, is a five-star rated linebacker in the 2015 class and is considered the second best outside backer in the country at this point. As you can see above, there are a plethora of big programs that have offered this deserving young man a scholarship, however he is down to his final five.

Of course, as with any top player, the Alabama Crimson Tide are right there in the mix, so Urban Meyer will have to fight off Nick Saban once again.

Right now, according to the 247 Crystal Ball predictions, Hilliard is heavily favored to ultimately choose the Buckeyes on July 2, with 76% of the votes leaning toward Columbus.

What should also be noted is that, according to, wherever Hillirad does end up, he plans to recruit a lot of other talent along with him. So, landing this young man will be beneficial in more ways than one.

Let’s just hope that he’s beneficial for the Buckeyes.
