The Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2015 recruiting class keeps moving along, and on Wednesday, as it got that much bigger with the commitment of four-star defensive end Dre’Mont Jones.
Jones, out of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, chose the Buckeyes over other offers from the likes of the Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Wildcats, Michigan State Spartans, Iowa Hawkeyes and a host of others.
Via 247 Sports, here’s a look at the profile of the latest Ohio State commit:
After playing on the junior varsity his sophomore year, Jones moved up to the varsity and had an outstanding junior season. He was a key cog as St. Ignatius once again qualified for the state playoffs.
Jones is a 4-star prospect that has a 91 rating by 247Sports. He is the country’s No. 238 overall prospect, the No. 9 strong-side defensive end, and the No. 7 prospect in the state of Ohio.
After the 2015 recruiting class had gotten off to a rather slow start, things seem to be picking up rather nicely at the moment. There are some that project Ohio State to finish up with 20 commitments by the time this class is wrapped up, and they seem as if they’re headed in the right direction.
Jones is the eighth commitment now in the 2015 class.
