The train has certainly been rolling in the right direction lately for the Ohio State Buckeyes and their 2015 recruiting class, and now it seems head coach Urban Meyer and staff are turning their attention outside of the United States looking ahead to 2016.
On Wednesday at the Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy, the Buckeyes made an offer to CB Patrice Rene of Canada.
“It’s very exciting,” Rene told 247 Sports. “Ohio State is a school I’ve been following for awhile. I’m excited about the opportunity, they have a great coaching staff and I’m excited for the future.”
Rene is not rated by the folks at the 247 Sports recruiting service, however he has been in contact with Ohio State before, attending their summer camp last year and left rather impressed. He does also hold offers from a few other prominent schools as well.
“They have amazing facilities. I got a full tour of the campus. I got a chance to meet most of the coaching staff and I got to meet Urban Meyer. Damon Webb was there when I visited and I really liked what I saw.
“I wouldn’t say they’re my favorite right now but I like them a lot. I’m also high on my offers from Rutgers and Syracuse. Ohio State is definitely up there. One of my favorite schools right now.”
