The Ohio State Buckeyes go their newest member of their 2015 recruiting class on Tuesday as the nation’s no. 1 rated long snapper according to 247 Sports, Liam McCullough, announced via his twitter account that he has pledged his allegiance to the Buckeyes for his college football career.

McCullough, who lives just 10 miles from Ohio Stadium, held offers from some of the best schools in the nation including the Michigan State Spartans, Kentucky Wildcats and Wisconsin Badgers; although he ultimately chose to stay closest to home and play for one of the premier programs in the nation.

At a recent long snapping camp, according to director Chris Rubio, McCullough turned a lot of heads.

“Liam did exceptionally well at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Event in Las Vegas. He made it to the finals and could have EASILY won the whole event. Snaps with great power and accuracy. When he gets his head through smoothly and his hands come out at the same spot, he is the best in the country. Passes the eyeball test VERY quickly. He has very strong hands and I love how he tries to snap it through the punter. Kid is on fire right now and should just keep picking up offers throughout the summer.”

This is now the sixth commitment for the Buckeyes in the 2015 recruiting class.
