Over the weekend the Ohio State football 2015 recruiting class got a new member in the form of safety Tyler Green, who committed to the Buckeyes over offers from Maryland, Hawaii, Charlotte and Indiana. He became the fourth commitment of the 2015 class following the lead of quarterback Joe Burrow who also committed this past month.

Green is an intriguing prospect. While, yes, he’s projecting as a safety, he can play anywhere you want him to, including on special teams returning kicks.
When asked about committing to Ohio State, Green admitted that it was really a no-brainer as the Buckeyes’ offer was the one that he was waiting for all along.
“I was nervous,” he said about speaking with Urban Meyer after camp. “I was smiling after I came out.” The reason for the smile? The four-star safety had committed to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.
“I was 100% ready to go, [Ohio State] was the one I was waiting for.”
While only a three-star prospect according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Green has huge upside with the Buckeyes. If anyone knows how to exploit the versatility, it’s Urban Meyer and he should have a fun time working Green into the mix in some way when he arrives on campus.
Green’s commitment hopefully shut down some of the naysayers that were concerned with the way the 2015 recruiting had been going for Ohio State and Coach Meyer.
