The accolades leading up to the 2014 season keep rolling in for Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Braxton Miller, who was recently named the third best senior quarterback of the 2015 class by ESPN Draft expert Mel Kiper.
1. Bryce Petty
2. Sean Mannion
3. Braxton Miller
4. Taylor Kelly
5. Hutson Mason
Bryce Petty and Sean Mannion, the two listed above Miller, more than likely deserve the distinction, however they’re both vastly different signal-callers than Miller. Petty and Mannion are purely pocket passers while we know what Braxton can do with his legs when needed.
Still, this is another sign that Miller’s time in Columbus is quickly coming to an end which is sad, however it’s amazing to see the amount of respect that he generates from some of the more respectable folks in the business of covering college football.
This upcoming season could be the most memorable one for Miller since he joined the team as a freshman four years ago. As we saw last year, he’s more than capable of leading this team to a national championship, it’s just a matter of getting over the hump. He couldn’t quite get it done against Michigan State last season, but he knows this season what he and this team are capable of, and playing with that chip on his shoulder is dangerous for every opponent the Buckeyes will face.
