For the past few months, many of the major college football recruiting services around the nation assumed that Hallandale, Florida linebacker Sh’mar Kilby-Lane was a lock to be headed to Columbus to be a huge member of the Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2015 recruiting class.
Well, they were all wrong as on Saturday Kilby-Lane decided to spurn the Buckeyes’ offer, among many others, and committed to the Florida State Seminoles.

On the 247 Sports recruiting, 95% of their crystal ball predictions had Kilby-Lane coming to Columbus to play for Urban Meyer and defensive coordinator Luke Fickell, which now will not be happening unless they can make some magic happen between now and the first week of February in 2015.
Is it the end of the world that Kilby-Lane decided against what everyone had predicted, not by any means, no; but it would have been nice to have him as the fourth commitment of the 2015 class, especially with the way the recruiting has stalled recently.
Aside from the Buckeyes, Kilby-Lane turned away offers from the likes of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Cincinnati Bearcats, Auburn Tigers and a few others.
So now, it’ll be back on the trail for the Ohio State coaching staff as they look to rebound from this rather shocking turn of events on Saturday, which as we know with Coach Meyer from the past, shouldn’t be an issue at all.
