The 2015 recruiting cycle for the Ohio State Buckeyes has not gone as fast as some of the other programs, but that’s okay. There’s still a lot of time left between now and National Signing Day next February, and things appear to be looking up as five-star running back recruit Damien Harris announced his top eight schools on Friday via his twitter account, and the Ohio State Buckeyes are right at the top.
Of course, as he said in there, the list is in no particular order, but given how coveted Harris’ services are, it’s still a blessing for Urban Meyer and staff to be sitting in the mix.
Harris, out of Berea, KY, is a five-star prospect according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings and is considered the no. 1 running back in the 2015 class at this point.
Among the other schools on the list are the likes of Florida State, Florida, Oregon, Kentucky and of course as is the case with virtually all five-star prospects, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
We won’t even mention Michigan at this point because let’s not get ourselves too worked up as of yet about what that nightmare would be like.
Harris, at 5-11 and 240-pounds, is one of the most versatile prospects at any position in the 2015 class, boasting a 40-yard dash time in the 4.40 range.
He has not set a specific timetable as of yet as to when he will make his decision, but it’s always nice to know that there’s a chance the top running back in the nation could be coming to Columbus.
