We’ve heard the refrain. Football is a game of inches. When you’re in the running to compete for the BCS National Championship, a few breaks of inches are going to have to go your way over the course of the season in order to get into that game. Last weekend at the Big House, the Michigan Wolverines came to within a 2 point conversion attempt of knocking off the Buckeyes. This week, the Buckeyes will take on the Michigan State Spartans in the Big Ten Championship Game, with a trip to the BCS National Championship Game likely on the line.
Big Ten Championship tickets have experienced a modest bump in prices over the past week, about 1%. Today Big Ten Championship tickets check in at an average price of $235 dollars, making this game the second most expensive conference championship behind the SEC. Prices had escalated to as high as $247 dollars on Monday, but have since settled in at current figures.
If Ohio State emerges victorious, they will likely secure their ticket to the BCS National Championship, sending Michigan State to the Rose Bowl. If Michigan State can hand the Buckeyes their first loss in two seasons, then the picture becomes a bit cloudy. As Big Ten champs, the Spartans would then be headed to the Rose Bowl. Ohio State would then likely secure one of the at-large bids, potentially the Orange Bowl.
While tickets for the Big Ten Championship game are available for as little as $113 dollars, it’s fairly safe to assume that it’ll cost fans quite a bit more to procure BCS National Championship tickets, Rose Bowl tickets, or Orange Bowl tickets.
