[Link] Evan Turner Likely to Part Ways with Sixers

This NBA season is very interesting in that the upcoming draft class has the potential to be the league’s best since 2003, which welcomed stars LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and others. Several teams appear to be “tanking” by trading veterans to acquire draft picks and mortgage a losing season now for success in the future. The 76ers are one of the teams using this strategy. First, the Sixers acquired Nerlens Noel and a draft pick by trading all-star point guard Jrue Holiday to New Orleans. The Sixers then decided to sit out Noel for the duration of this season. Now, the Sixers appear to be shopping Turner and it is likely he could be traded by midseason. Turner weighed in on his situation with the Sixers:

“I really don’t know, to tell you the truth,” Turner said. “Like I mean, you just traded Jrue. Jrue is like a walking legend. You know what I’m saying? Even Wilt Chamberlain got traded, right?”

The Sixers are having success this season with a 3-0 record and wins over the Bulls and Heat. Turner is averaging 23.0 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and 4.0 assists per game this season.
