Terrelle Pryor: “[Oakland Raiders Will] Get to the Playoffs”

Despite an ugly loss yesterday in which the Kansas City Chiefs racked up 10 sacks and Oakland once faced a 4th and 48, Terrelle Pryor still has faith in his suddenly semi-relevant Raiders.

“We have to come together and start creating,” Pryor said, per CSN Bay Area. “We’ll be back; 2-4; we’ll get to the playoffs.”

While most people will scratch their heads at the comments, Pryor’s saying the right things, and it’s not incredibly unthinkable if the Raiders can get Darren McFadden healthy and establish a consistent running game. With McFadden playing through injuries for most of the season, it’s made guessing Oakland’s play calls far easier for opposing defenses, but Pryor and company have certainly proven that they can create some big plays from time to time.

What do you think? Do Pryor’s comments have legs? Can the Raiders sneak in as a Wild Card? Or will they be on the couch watching the playoffs like the rest of us?

I love my Raiders, and yeah…. Truth be told, the Raiders could be sitting at 5-1. They were one play away from beating the Colts, the Redskins game doesn’t count for obvious reasons. A half a brain knows if Pyor was QB the Raiders would have controlled that entire game. The Chiefs and Raiders were tied at 7 all into the half, it was still anybodies game going into the forth. At which point the Chiefs defense was facing an entire Raiders OL comprised of practice squad players, and for that reason plus the crowd noise they were overwhelmed. If Jared Veldeer and Wiz were in there, it would have been a different story. Hopefully they get guys healthy during the bye, they might get Veldeer back by week 9. Do I think the Raiders could be 5-1…. YES! Having watched every game it boils down to one flaw, and one flaw alone. THE O-LINE. Pryor is unbelievable but he is not a machine, he needs protection. Bottom line. Get him consistent protection and he wins games. We will see how the rest of the season goes, but next year I can see them plugging the O-line with nothing but high level talent and they should coast into the playoffs. This year… Um! Seeing is believing, and I need to see consistency first.

I really like the fact that Terrell Pryor has the confidence and believes in the Raiders. If the O-Line wasn’t so riddled with injuries their record would be better. The running game is affected by the O-LINE and everything else falls like a domino effect. Pryor still gives us the best chance to win and his mindset is showing it.

I believe in this team. Period! With Terrelle!

Total possible!! 2002 Rich Gannon had our team at 4-4 and went on to take us to the Super Bowl! Although we don’t need to relive that anything is possible if our players can keep away from injuries and we can keep Pryor protected while getting McFadden the chance to RUN!! :)
