Yesterday was a scorcher at the Horseshoe, with temperatures reaching into the high 80s. High humidity and a sunny day made the temperature feel much worse than that, causing some problems and 160 people were treated for heat-related issues. Throughout the game the stadium urged fans to stay warm and repeatedly announced locations of free water station in order to combat the heat. The stadium is mostly metal bleachers in the stands and the announced attendance was over 103,000. The American Red Cross had 50 volunteers work the game and keep the issues under control. The volunteers were successful at limiting any serious issues. Fans should plan accordingly for next week’s game, a 3:30 ET kickoff against the San Diego State Aztecs.
