Former Buckeyes linebacker John Simon has impressed thus far in his brief time with the Ravens, and that continued in last night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. Simon recorded a sack, and also had a tackle and two assists as the Ravens rallied to defeat the Falcons 27-23.

Here’s a link to a video of Simon sacking Falcons quarterback Sean Renfree.

Simon was selected by the Ravens in the fourth round of last April’s NFL Draft, and will look to step up and contribute to a defense that lost key pieces including future Hall of Famers Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. With Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil both on the roster, Simon will certainly have some great mentors, and will hopefully emerge as the next great Baltimore Ravens linebacker.
