Ohio State Basketball Recruiting: 2013 Commit, F Marc Loving

As Ohio State’s first commit for the 2013-14 season, Toledo St. Johns’ Marc Loving will be making his way to Buckeye Nation following his senior year.

His freshman year at St. John’s, Loving posted 12.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. While those are the only stats currently available, his size and skill set are what make him an incredible pick up for OSU down the line.

Loving has the ability to score both inside and out, and can cause some real match up problems given his size and propensity to play both forward spots. At 6’7″ 185 pounds, the frosh is definitely going to have to bulk up if he wants to be a factor in the low post, but his all-around scoring ability will be key for the Buckeyes’ success.

Loving’s got a smooth jumper out to the college three, and has shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket as well. He also moves well without the ball, making sharp cuts for easy scores at the rim.

With DeShaun Thomas likely leaving for the NBA next season, the Ohio native will have big shoes to fill come next September. And if the Buckeyes have any hope of taking it all, it’ll likely be their top recruit, Marc Loving, leading the charge.
