OSU 2013 Class: Lewis Neal

The effects of the Spring Game are still being felt, as Meyer’s 2013 class is pouring in after the scrimmage weekend.  Lewis Neal, OSU’s latest commit, comes from Everett Withers’ former recruiting territory in North Carolina.  Neal is considered a 3* recruit, virtually across the board right now (Rivals, Scout, ESPN, and 247), but certainly has room to improve over the course of his senior season.  I have not followed Neal as much as some others in this recruiting class, but most sites report that he shows a good ability to shed blockers and rush the QB.  He is definitely a good athlete, and with some weight training and coaching, he could grow into a top level defender.  Look for him to possibly make the switch to a linebacker position once he arrives at OSU in 2013.

Urban Meyer brought in 4 (or 5, depending on where you place Jamal Marcus) defensive linemen in the 2012 class, and has already received commits from another 4 players for 2013.  It’s clear that he is picking up right where he left off at Florida and building a great defense in the trenches.  The more athletic players we can throw at an offensive line, the better.  Click to see the stats and junior highlight video of OSU’s 13th commitment in the 2013 class…
