OSU 2013 Class: Jayme Thompson

Flipping recruits just never gets old to me, and Urban “Flipadelphia” Meyer is at it again.  Sure, it’s only been 2 months since Jayme Thompson, a high school junior, made his verbal commitment to West Virginia, and he still has a whole year of school left, but a flip is a flip!  Rivals currently has Thompson listed as a 4 star recruit, the #13 safety in the nation, and #146 overall prospect in the 2013 class.  The First Team All-Conference selection for Central Catholic High School will look to play safety for Urban Meyer’s club beginning in the fall of ’13.  In his highlight clips you can see that Thompson has the athleticism and ability to cover all types and lengths of passes at his current level.  He also shows a tremendous talent in blitzing and getting to the ball carrier, although I’d like to see better form tackling and less arm tackles, something that will surely come with proper weight training and coaching at OSU.  In all, Thompson is a very solid addition to the defensive backs in this class (Cam Burrows and Eli Woodard), and I expect his stock to rise even higher once he gets onto the field for his senior campaign.

One other thing is for sure, (and no, I’m not promoting this), but the next time a thug M*chigan player should happen to start a fight in a tunnel, he had better hope he didn’t pick Jayme Thompson, since JT practices Jiu Jitsu in his spare time.  Click to see the stats and junior highlight video of OSU’s 7th commitment in the 2013 class…
