Rivals currently has Evan Lisle listed as the #11 overall offensive lineman, the best O-lineman in Ohio, and the #83 overall recruit in the country for the 2013 class. The second one on that list is probably my favorite, and one that stands out to most Buckeye fans. We have heard and will continue to hear about every TSUN recruit that Hoke brings in from our great state, but this is not a new trend. Check M*chigan’s classes as far back as you can and you’ll see that they always shop in our neck of the woods. What I hope I continue to see is OSU and Urban Meyer pulling in the BEST at each position in Ohio and letting Brady Hoke have his choice of the rest. So far in the 2013 class, the Buckeyes have received commitments from the #1 OL in Ohio (Lisle), the #1 DB in Ohio (Burrows), the #1 Athlete in Ohio (Marshall), the #1 DT in Ohio (Price), and topped it off with the #1 overall recruit in New Jersey (Woodard).
Evan Lisle is certainly a huge get for this class, as I predicted that we would try to bring in a total of four OL recruits, and starting with the best in Ohio is a fantastic start. Centerville High School has a nice history of bringing OSU some great players, including AJ Hawk, Mike Nugent, and Kirk Herbstreit, so hopefully Lisle can continue this tradition.
