Buckeyes camp opens today in Columbus, Ohio.
The Buckeyes are one of the preseason favorites to win the BCS National Championship in Glendale, Arizona this year with their main competition being the Alabama Crimson Tide and surprisingly the Boise State Broncos.
The expectations are also high for Junior quarterback Terrelle Pryor who is expected to be one of the main contenders for the Heisman trophy this year.
The 6”6” 240 quarterback is coming off of his most impressive game of his career against the Oregon Ducks throwing for 266 yards and running for 72 more. These type of performances are what’s expected of him this year as the Bucks schedule has them traveling to Ames, Iowa to take on a tough Hawkeyes squad who are expected to contend for the Big Ten crown, Camp Randall stadium and the always tough Wisconsin Badgers, and of course a late November showdown with the Michigan Wolverines.
The Buckeyes also have an early season heavyweight battle with the rejuvenated Miami Hurricanes and their own Heisman contender in Jacory Harris. The U are early favorites for and ACC title as coach Randy Shannon has done a remarkable job in turning that program around after Larry Coker’s regime.
The countdown begins ladies and gentlemen—28 days until the opener versus Marshall on a Thursday night.
